Day 16 - Tardajos - 11km

Walked 11km with the Spaniard. We had lots of interesting discussions about the church and religion. We carried a dying sparrow off the road and put it in the shadow. Not much else we could do for it. Neither of us knows any Sparrow CPR.

There's a warm and constant wind in this area, including its cities, making the heat bearable. We went away from the Camino for a little bit, because my guide said there was a refugio there, but it turned out that's been closed for two years. We had some trouble finding our way back to the Camino, and ended up in an awkward busy traffic junction, where we asked some policemen for the way back.

We eventually ended up in Tardajos, where we attended mass in a cathedral. That was very interesting to look at, even though I didn't understand a thing. Beautiful rituals and traditional garments. After mass there was a procession, which was a nice surprise. More traditional clothing and even musicians. Very nice.

The soles of my feet and my heels are really hurting, and I got a blister on my left foot. It's not as easy anymore :)
